savonastripadvisorsm“Small, cozy, neighborhood restaurant with Italian cuisine is nestled on the ground floor of the old Mansion House Hotel in Kingston, NY below the iron balcony where good ol President Abe Lincoln gave a speech to the busy people of the Rondout Strand. The Savona family has been delighting locals and travelers alike for more than a generation. Food is always fresh with a variety of traditional and lite fare to accompany a selection of fine wines & spirits. Usually busy, (so make reservations) in milder weather they spill over into a covered outdoor patio filled with large palms and potted gardens kept comfortable by a bevy of patio heaters in the fall. We’ve attended some evenings featuring local and well known entertainment. Check out photos of the famous and hungry who’ve stopped by. Save room for delicious desserts! You wont be disappointed.”

“A must place to eat in Kingston. Great food and great location on the Rondout. Excellent menu which features daily specials, which are truly special. Authentic Italian cuisine is not all that is featured. Meats and fish are also outstanding and you can’t find a better drink anywhere in Kingston. The warm garlic bread sticks served with every meal are a signature of Savona’s…they are a tasty start !!! The wait staff completes the dining experience. Friendly and attentive at all times. We love the place and I’m sure you will too. ”

“For pasta dishes done right and other “comfort food” just like Grandma used to make, surveyors seek out this popular Italian Restaurant in Kingston’s Rondout district serving the family recipes of second-generation restauranteur and engaging host Stephen Savona; affordable tabs, a casual setting with big windows and sidewalk seating all make it easy to become a regular.”

“With many eateries to select from on the Kingston waterfront, Savona’s Trattoria is one not to miss. It offers a great menu with a generous selection of Italian cuisine. Reasonable prices as well as ambience welcome everyone in the family.”

“The eatery has been open for a few years now, and has garnered a devoted following of regulars.  There is a reason for the line at the door.  Savona’s offers a an expansive selection of well prepared classic Italian dishes, served in copious quantities for a very reasonable price. ” – North Country and Hudson Valley Rambler

“The food at Savona’s is hearty and served in copious portions that are satisfying enough to please any palate. They are not just a place to eat but rather, a gathering place where you and your friends and family can slow down, enjoy a great meal over a glass of wine and reconnect in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere.”

A pleasant surprise on the Kingston waterfront. The salmon limoncello – a house favorite served with baby spinach and risotto – is possibly the best seafood dish I have ever eaten!”

“Just came back from Savona’s in Kingston at the Rondout. They had a chicken Sopressa that was absolutely orgasmic. The sauce was magnificent. The reason I love Savona’s is they are consistently good and EVERYTHING is good from the salad or soup to the bread sticks to the main meal to the expresso to the cannolis. The family that own Savona’s is as lovely as their food”

“Delicious food at a great price. The breadsticks are absolutely addictive! Pasta dishes and pizza are great here. Will be back again and again.”
